Advancing scholarly knowledge and applied practice towards transportation equity and mobility justice.
About
Our objective
The objective of Crossroads is to advance scholarly knowledge and applied practice towards transportation equity and mobility justice.
We strive to achieve the following goals
Learn
- Foster shared learning and reflection that helps generate new and bold visions for transportation justice and transformative policy solutions
- Encourage participants to learn from, and be challenged by, people whose expertise and experience differ from their own
Connect
- Facilitate deliberation, collaboration and connection
- Convene people who value equity in transportation and the right of all to move safely through public space
Include
- Include representation from research, practice, and advocacy
- Value and elevate community experience and knowledge
Stay independent
- Maintain autonomy and independence from political and institutional constraints
Who we welcome
Transportation at the center
Transportation and mobility are the center of this conversation. At the same time, we acknowledge that a full conversation about transportation and mobility requires that we also discuss related issues such as housing, labor, green space access, education, public safety, land use, environmental justice, youth empowerment, economic justice, and others. Thus, we welcome those working at the intersection of these issues and transportation and mobility. Similarly, we center research and knowledge production and translating that knowledge into practice. From that space, we welcome folks working in NGOs, advocacy, government, policy, consulting, industry, community organizing, and other domains.
